Place to perform last rites

TO ENABLE people residing in the areas in and around Nanganallur to perform religious funeral rites according to the Sastras, the Mukthi Karma Sthala Trust was formed. The trust, which functions from C-23, 6th Street, Lakshmi Nagar, Nanganallur, Chennai-61, (Ph: 044- 224 2571; 224 2871), has purchased a site measuring three grounds at Vidyanagar, Ulagaram, Chennai-91, for the purpose. The construction work was begun in February with the blessings of Kanchi Sri Jayendra Saraswathi, Srirangam Andavan Swamigal, Jeeyar of the Ahobila Math and Vignanatheertha Swamigal. The estimated cost of the building is Rs. 45 lakhs and the completion of the project depends entirely on donations.

The roofing for the ground and first floor is over. Rooms in the ground floor are under construction. The trust appeals to charitable institutions and philanthropists to contribute liberally by way of money and materials. All donations are exempt from Income Tax under Section 80G. Cheques and DD may be sent in the name of Mukthi Karma Sthala Trust.
