Music marketing

ARM-TWISTED by music companies into parting with his soundtracks at throwaway prices, Suneel Darshan has decided to market his own music. "Myself and my brother Dharamesh hold a reputation for quality music. And as we make a fairly large number of films, I thought this was the best time to take the plunge," says Suneel. The first album with the Darshans' music label would be "Andaz", the Akshay Kumar-Lara Dutta-Priyanka Chopra love triangle opening on April 11, which Raj Kanwar has directed for Suneel. A sneak peak of Nadeem-Shravan's songs reveals a potential winner.

The doyen of romantic ditties, Yash Chopra too is all set to float a music label under his Yashraj banner. The first premium soundtrack would probably be Yash Chopra's next venture starring Amitabh Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. The songs sung by Yash Chopra's muse Lata Mangeshkar will be recorded in London.
