AN EXHIBITION attracting gift shoppers has a range of striking brass ware in antique silver, copper and pewter finish, handcrafted cloth activity books for children and leather strips woven into multi-hued handbags. Organised by Contemporary Arts and Crafts, the fair is on at 45, C.P. Ramaswami Road, Alwarpet.
Skilfully beaded placemats, brass icons from Aligarh, mother-of-pearl embellished artefacts and unusual photo frames are other attractions. The high-quality leather strip bags are snazzy and the colourful strips have a Spanish-Mexican old world charm. Equally pretty are etched plates, trays and coasters with glass enamelling in jewel colours. Children activity books on sports and transport make good gifts.
The exhibition is on till June 26.
