Voice of freedom...

SARAH FRANCIS is not an ordinary 15-year-old. This singing sensation started her career two years ago, with the song Voice of Freedom, opposing terrorism and promoting peace following the attack on the WTC. Since then, she has raised 12,125.45 pounds and has given it all away to help the cause of Afghan refugees.

Sarah passionately wants to help refugees, and has visited refugee camps in Peshawar in Pakistan to see their living conditions firsthand. While in Pakistan, she was approached by PTV to sing a few songs, for which she was offered a record fee, which too she gave away to charity.

She has appeared in Euro Music festivals and has launched several Voice of Freedom concerts to raise money for refugees. Donors to her cause range from schoolchildren to churches to musicians, and even other refugees.

After she raised 12,000 pounds, she waited several months and on June 189, 2003, at the Royal Albert Hall, was presented before General Pervez Musharraf and she handed over the cheque to him, to help Afghan refugees in Pakistan.

Right now, Sarah is introducing another classical-fusion song in collaboration with sarangi maestro Kamal Sabri. Truly an exceptional teenager, Sarah is dedicated to the cause of Afghan refugees, and has not kept any of the money she has raised.
