|
WHAT WAS once known for its kaftan-styled nighties and night suits, and beautiful bedcovers with pillows in Lucknowi designs, today stocks dress materials and readymade outfits. With the festival season on, how about checking out the latest stocks at the 10-year-old boutique, Khoobsurat (Tel: 23327710), near Standard Chartered bank at Somajiguda?
Run by Rashmi Bhargava, the boutique stocks everything from salwar kameez and ghagras to kurtas, kurtis and lahariyas in fabrics ranging from chiffons and georgettes to Mangalagiris, Lucknow cottons and synthetics.
"I have to see the response for the readymade sets and then maybe think of stocking more," says Rashmi who also takes up orders for stitching. As for now, check out the stuff in hand and machine embroidery, kundan, bota patti, mukaish and Lucknowi work, and also dyeing. The latest addition is the salwar kameez sets from New Delhi with bead and antique work.
Where does Rashmi source her clothes? "Delhi, Mumbai, Jaipur, Surat and Luknow basically," she says. All the stuff comes in an affordable price range of Rs. 250 to Rs. 2,300, apart from stitching charges of Rs. 120 per suit and Rs. 255 for ghagras.
The gentlemen in the city can try out Kashmiri embroidered kurtas and designer kurtas spruced up with stones and sequins. For the festival, there is a discount of 10 per cent on the entire range.
