Andhra food fest
Gourmets enjoying the Andhra cuisine amidst soul soothing classical music.
Andhra Pradesh is famous for two things, the heat during summer and its mouth-watering spicy food. For the ones who had tasted this cuisine atleast once, the spice and the aroma lingers in their mouth for a long time.
To give such a memorable experience to the gourmets, chef Nambi Arooran of WelcomHotel Grand Bay is hosting an Andhra food festival from Friday at the hotel's South Indian restaurant, Dakshin.
Though the festival may look like the same old dishes for the Andhraites, the chef says, "It is a festival with a difference. We have hand picked traditional dishes from different regions of the State and have prepared them authentically. We will be serving a few rare dishes like, bommidalu pulusu, chukka peethala vepudu, Kakinada peethala iguru, allam kodi, gongura kodi, pesarattu kora and mullakada mamsam. Apart from these dishes a variety of chutneys, starters and traditional soups will be served."
The ten-day food festival is being served on buffet basis for dinner and Nambi has plans to change the menu every day, including the chutneys. To add to the ethnic ambience the hotel has arranged live classical music for the patrons.
Sheraton plus members and defence personnel'can avail of the usual discounts.
