CRICKET AS a craft has enthralled many a connoisseur. Now it's time for the game to satiate the aficionados of art. Photojournalist Kamal Sharma's photo exhibition, `Cricket Beyond The Boundary' brought to life the passion that runs the game.
Put up at the Delhi Police Gazetted Officers' Mess, the exhibition featured around 100 photographs depicting the historic Samsung Cup Friendship Series won by India in Pakistan.
The picture that caught the eye of most visitors was a nine-foot message board with the poster of the Indian team engrossed in the famous field huddle. Signed by visitors, the message board was presented to Ashish Nehra who will tour with the Indian team to Holland and England.
Terming the photographs as "pieces of art", Kapil Dev asked for a copy of the team photograph autographed by the players.
The exhibition's closing ceremony was attended by veteran cricketers Madan Lal, Chetan Chauhan and others. Celebrities and commoners enjoyed the works.
Kamal Sharma's works have already found a place in books like "Cricketing Safari", "Straight from the Heart" and "The Virender Sehwag Story".
