`Ganesh Utsav' showcases the deity in myriad forms and sizes
|
"GANESH UTSAV," a unique exhibition of over 5,000 Ganeshas in myriad forms, sizes and materials, is being organised by The Heritage, at the mini gallery, C. P. Art Centre, Eldams Road. The collection created by The Heritage's in-house artisans features Ganesha fountains, wall hangings, centre tables, panels, lamps and showpieces. The terrabatik finish lends a rare touch to the creations.
The range of water fountains in terracotta is distinct for its artistry. While it's Ganesha galore, there are also fountains bearing images of a host of other deities. The water flow has the desired sound to suit vaastu requirements. Some of the fountains are fitted with lights for special effects.
Another attraction is the collection of terracotta lampshades, which come with beautiful figurines of gods and goddesses. Special painting techniques have been employed for that different look.
Ganesha wall hangings with brass bells, wrought iron wall hangings of Ganesha in various poses, miniatures on ornamental glass and a whole lot of brass, bronze and wood figurines beckon attention. Abstract Ganeshas on acrylic and Tanjore paintings are also available. The exhibition is on till September 11 (including Sundays). For details call 98400 70026/ 98400 74044.
