Good HAIR days
You can trick your hair into place, says JESSINA ABOOBACKER.
RAPE OF THE LOCK: Keep bad hair days at bay
HERE ARE a few tress tricks to keep bad hair days at bay. You don't have to worry sick if the tresses don't fall in line. You can trick your hair into place.
You are not blessed with a bountiful mane? You could try to come near it. Avoid using products like leave-in-conditioners, oils and serums on your hair as they weigh the hair down. Use a volume enhancing shampoo and conditioner. Blow-dry your hair till it is 3/4th dry. Then spray a volume-boosting agent and finally finish up the drying with cold air to set the product.
If you have unmanageable curls the care should promptly start at the sluice stage itself. Make sure you shower with a moisturising shampoo and conditioner. Don't over work with the towel, as this will make it look wild. Divide your hair into parts and blow dry the underneath section first, that too work the blow drier downwards so that the hair cuticles lie flat. To conclude add a levelling product to give a smooth finish.
If you are in a hurry and you notice that there is natural oil in your hair just splash some talcum powder onto the scalp and blow-dry. The talcum will absorb the excess oil and leave it clean. Now brush your hair the way you wish or have a neat hairdo.
Each string of hair includes shaft sheathed in cuticles that overlap each other slightly. So a cold-water rinse after shampoo and conditioning will make the cuticle flatten giving it a lustrous and radiant look.
You can actually make your hair fuller with colour treatment if you possess a fine texture. This may send your conservative grandmother in for a shock, but keeping with the current trends this is a spot on. The ammonia in the temporary colouring solutions arrests themselves into the molecules of the hair strands. Thus it gives them an occupied and packed look.
We are of the wrong perception that highlights fade soon. It is the pollution in the air playing havoc with them. Just use a special shampoo for coloured or treated hair or a detoxifying shampoo. This will revive the highlights.
If you want to wear a different hairdo and your hair does not agree to sit in a coiffure just gel your hair. Comb it back and if the length agrees for a ponytail do so otherwise go for a stylish chignon. But remember to use a wide toothcomb after applying gel, so that the gel is regularly spread.
We end up having static electricity in our hairs. The cure to this is to use shampoos without alcoholic contents as this gives capacity to the hair. Even brushes can exacerbate static electricity. So opt for a wide toothed comb. Try to weigh down the strands with leave-in-conditioners and serums.
Use a conditioner after shampoo. Preferably use a separate shampoo and conditioner. Therefore you can regulate the quantity of the conditioner according to the quality of your hair. Rinse the conditioner well from the hair otherwise you will create a breeding ground for dandruffs. Olive oil acts as a substitute to serum and is a perfect conditioner. But do not apply all over. Apply only on the tips of the hair and rub it well.
Do not overwork products into the hair. Less is more. So apply according to the instructions given on the product cover. If you are still uncertain then try on the tip of the hair alone. If you feed your entire hair to the product unnecessarily then you will have to begin right from hair wash.
Note: the thicker the product the lesser you require.
If none of these tricks work simply indulge in a few accomplices for the hair so that the attention is diverted to these accessories. You could use them on loose hair or on any hairdo. This will make you feel more relaxed despite bad tresses. Don't let your hair ruin your day and give you sleepless nights! Act timely.
