THE AMBIENCE is just perfect for Bollywood lovers. As you enteryou will find the posters of your favourite stars donning the walls making you feel a star among them. Lilting music with a touch of Bollywood remixes and theme songs playing every now and then, soothing yellow and brown colour of the restaurant and of course a separate bar section will surely leave you with a right mix of culinary and ambient experience.
The newly opened Bollywood Blues, Restaurant and Bar at Paschim Vihar is surely not a new concept as it has already been done by Filmi Masala in Gurgaon and Nostalgia in South Delhi. The menu, entirely based on Bollywood films, follows a typical Hindi masala movie.
Movies craze
The restaurant's bar `kabhi whisky kabhi rum' has an eclectic mix of imported and Indian liquors. G.S. Chandok, the man behind the concept and the owner of the restaurant says, "My craze for Hindi movies led me to open a restaurant like this. I wanted to create a place where one could feel like a star among stars and I have tried to balance it out with commercial sense by competitive pricing of the dishes ."
The menu offers delectable dishes from its Indian and Chinese cuisine. There is masaledar champe (tak-a-tak curried lamb chop), machhi Amritsari, Punjabi-styled fried fish, jhinga masaledar (curried prawns cooked on tawa) and murg reshmi for non-vegetarians.
For the vegetarians there is mattar mushroom, paneer pasanda, mattar methi malai, paneer tikka makhani to name a few from the Indian cuisine. In the Chinese cuisine some of the specialities on offer are prawn in choice of sauce and shredded lamb Hong Kong style. For those with a sweet tooth, gulab jamun and ice creams to savour. A meal for two costs Rs.250 onwards.
