Fashion Sonam Dubal makes clothes for the personality and not the person

Fab fabrics: Sonam Dubal experiments with new textures

Sonam Dubal, a designer from the city, showcased his designs at the Lakme India Fashion Week (LIFW). This designer has been striving to give fabrics such as burrey or tsen a place on the elite shelves of the fashion world.

Sonam was also invited to showcase his designs at the Singapore Tourism Fashion Festival last month. For the LIFW, he used fabric such as wool, silk, crepe and sheer chanderi to make wrap blouses and body-fitted crushed tops, combined with layered pyjamas and striped skirts.

About his designs, Sonam says: "The collection is for powerful people who exert a lot of influence, specially since I design for the personality rather than the person."

Clothes designed by Sonam are available at Cinnamon in Bangalore.
