Now cross the river

In the rush of malls springing up across the city, here comes the latest, Crossriver Mall, touted as the longest mall ever in Delhi. Located in the Central Business District of Shahadra in East Delhi, the mall offers the exclusivity of having all its shops facing the road. With a bottom line like, "Dreams, Desires, Lifestyle", the four-storied mall offers customers avenues to shop, eat and watch movies.

Says L.N. Goel, Chairman, Suncity Projects, the company behind the mall, "It has specially been materialised to facilitate retail business in East Delhi. We intend to provide a different feel of shopping and entertainment to affluent consumers. There are fun and games centres for children too." The mall houses 87 Indian and international brands. For food lovers, there are coffee shops, wine parlours and restaurants. And going by the belief that any shopping and food spree ends with a good movie at a Cineplex, the mall offers visitors four screen multiplexes with a seating capacity of 1100, by Fun Republic, one of the country's leading multiplex chain. "To avoid parking menace, it has two-level basements that can take in around 600 cars at one time," stresses Subhas Aggrawal, the mall's director. The mall was unveiled by Subhas Chandra, Chairman, Zee Network and TV show host Mandira Bedi conducted the proceedings. Actress Celina Jaitly mesmerised the crowd with her dance numbers from Hindi films and singer Kunal Ganjawala regaled those present..
