The MetroPlus Theatre Fest 2008 was launched at a fun party at The Park. The formal part of the function was made up of a speech by Chief Guest, Bernd Mutzelburg, the German Ambassador to India, a welcome address by N. Ram, Editor-in-Chief of The Hindu, and two brief addresses by Jung-ung Yang, Director of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and Johannes von Matuschka, Director of “Electronic City”. Both plays are a part of this year’s Theatre Fest. The rest of the evening was spent in conversation and music, with Sujan Daniel and his band, the Live Martini, keeping feet moving on the dance floor. The event was attended by a number of theatre people and theatre lovers in the city.
